A Picture Is Worth A Thousand Memories
My “collection” is certainly not a Pinterest worthy vignette but this silver tray holds some special Christmas memories of people we love. The tree comes from Rod’s grandmother’s home. The framed cross-stitch picture was given to my mom years ago from one of her sweetest friends. The little Christmas girl is from my grandmother’s home, later displayed at my mom and dad’s home and the house filled with candy canes was bought by us when Caitlin was a little girl. This year, our granddaughter tasted a candy cane from the house for the first time. The cookbook holds some recipes that Mom would bake that filled our home with a delicious fragrance. And, the tray that holds it all together was given to my mom by a Cub Scout troop many years ago in appreciation for her service to them. My collection may never make a Pinterest post but it holds a special place in my heart. Christmas isn’t about the decor but about how those we hold dear piece together love in our hearts.
